Knife fight at RAK wedding injures groom

A groom was injured after a knife fight broke out at a wedding in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday, police said.

The RAK Police Operations Room received a call at dawn, reporting an altercation where several people attacked one another with knives while attending a wedding.

Brig Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, director general of police operations at RAK Police, said the fight had occurred between seven wedding guests, aged between 20 and 30, because of “preexisting differences”.

Guests with moderate to severe injuries where taken to the hospital for treatment.

RAK Police is investigating the incident to find out the motives and reasons behind the fight.

Al Hadidi warned against the use of knives which could lead to injuries and a threat to the lives and safety of others.

He called upon parents be responsible for their children’s actions.
