The leader of a drug-trafficking gang in Lebanon told police about a shipment of cocaine he was planning to sell in the UAE. Officers managed to arrest two dealers, including the leader's brother, in this country, reported Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National.

This week, Dubai Court of Appeal upheld 10-year jail sentences and Dh50,000 fines against two Syrians for possession with intent to sell half a kilogram of cocaine.

Dubai Police were tipped off in August 2014 about a dealer in Lebanon planning to sell 1kg of cocaine in the UAE.
