DUBAI // An Italian businessman confessed to consuming cocaine when he appeared at Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday morning.
On June 18 the 33-year-old was arrested after Dubai Police’s anti-narcotics department received a tip-off.
A M was charged with consuming cocaine and another substance, though he only confessed to taking cocaine when he appeared in court.
Urine test results came back positive for the drug.
Prosecutors said the businessman confessed during investigations but they did not give any more details about the conditions of his arrest.
A verdict is due on September 14.
