SHARJAH // More than 400 Syrian children at the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Amman, Jordan, took part in a series of art and creative workshops organised by the Sharjah Children’s Biennial.

The visit to the camp was the beginning of a series of inspiring, artistic and educational workshops that will set the tone for the fifth Sharjah Children Biennial, an event that organises artwork competitions for children using a diverse range of art mediums.

Displaced Syrian children were given art-inspired workshops presented by members of the delegation.

The first workshop, Thousands of Miles Below the Sea, aimed to encourage children to unleash their imagination by recreating underwater creatures on a roll of paper using a variety of artistic tools.
