* Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi's Big Heart for Syrian Refugee Children campaign is giving Dh6.6m to displaced families in Jordan to mark Eid. The money will help 12,000 families, who have an average of six children each, displaced by the civil war. To donate, text "donate" to your mobile provider. * Dubai Cares, set up by the Vice President, ran a Ramadan campaign called End Poverty, Educate Now, raising funds to help children in developing countries receive abetter education. The organisation will help non-profit schools this year as part of its Volunteer Emirates campaign. In April, Dubai Cares took more than 100 volunteers to renovate Umm Al Qura Private School, a non-profit institution in Umm Al Quwain. Volunteers painted, assembled a new playground and toys, and provided new sports and music equipment. Dubai Cares has helped 8 million children in 31 countries. * Adopt-a-Camp has organised 5,000 care packages for workers, with 9,000 volunteers, on Sheikh Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work. It will continue running its regular campaigns throughout the year. It provides hygiene workshops, counselling, scholarships and arranges free medical, optical and dental treatment for labourers. It also helps workers at abandoned camps. Saher Shaikh, Adopt-a-Camp founder, said: "We're trying to help these men all year round and the more help we can get, the more we can give."
* From September, Abu Dhabi residents can help clean up the city's mangroves as part of Green Abu Dhabi's mangrove clean-up project. Details will be announced soon.
