How to get your Emirates ID in 24 hours in the UAE

A newly launched fast-track service allows applicants to obtain their Emirates ID cards within 24 hours, an official at the Emirates ID Authority (Eida) said on Tuesday.

The service, which costs Dh150 and is available in four Eida centres so far, enables the applicant to report directly to the registration centre without stopping by a typing office, Ayesha Al Rissi, head of the central operations sector at Eida, told The National's Arabic-language sister paper, Al Ittihad.

The service is currently available at the Musaffah and Al Wahda centres, at Al Brarsha centre in Dubai and at the Sharjah centre, Ms Al Rissi said.

"Eida plans to gradually launch the service in most of its permanent centres nationwide over the coming period."

The drill

Recharge as needed, says Mat Dryden: “We try to make it a rule that every two to three months, even if it’s for four days, we get away, get some time together, recharge, refresh.” The couple take an hour a day to check into their businesses and that’s it.

Stick to the schedule, says Mike Addo: “We have an entire wall known as ‘The Lab,’ covered with colour-coded Post-it notes dedicated to our joint weekly planner, content board, marketing strategy, trends, ideas and upcoming meetings.”

Be a team, suggests Addo: “When training together, you have to trust in each other’s abilities. Otherwise working out together very quickly becomes one person training the other.”

Pull your weight, says Thuymi Do: “To do what we do, there definitely can be no lazy member of the team.”
