ABU DHABI // The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has released 58 new housing designs for Emirati housing loan recipients to choose from.

The designs were released as part of the Bayti [my home] initiative, to simplify the process of buying and building homes for Emiratis.

Homes will be available in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region and can be built within two years.

The average expected cost for each house, which is available as an interest-free loan, is Dh2 million.

It is open for all Emiratis whether they wish to pay cash or use the loan. Recipients can repay the amount in monthly instalments.

“This initiative will support building residential communities based on the highest standards of quality and efficiency, which will guarantee the provision of security and comfort to the citizens now and into the future,” said Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, director general of the authority.

The 58 designs, in different styles, range from modern, Andalusian, Islamic and heritage.

The number of rooms range between four and eight bedrooms, with the possibility of future expansion.

“Emiratis can choose the land and size from the catalogue and then they can build on that according to their own choices and designs,” said Mahra Al Qassimi, Bayti project manager at the authority.

She stressed that the homes were not prefabricated and would be built in the way regular villas were built. She said the preapproved designs would cut down the time it took to have a housing project approved.
