ABU DHABI // Three men who rented jet skis from a hotel and headed out to sea have been found safe.
The three Arab men, aged between 24 and 25, got lost after setting out to try and reach Al Bahrani Island, south west of Abu Dhabi island, at about 5.30pm on Friday.
Abu Dhabi Police's air wing department sent out a search and rescue helicopter with thermal night vision camera and it found the trio on a small island near Al Bahrani after receiving a report of their disappearance at 10.35pm on Friday.
Colonel Ibrahim Al Balushi, the head of the air search and rescue division, urged people wishing to embark on such maritime trips to always have a mobile phone with them to be able to contact authorities in case of emergency.
