More than 150 horse riders and about 300 volunteers will set off from Sharjah on Monday to educate communities across the country about breast cancer and offer free tests.
Supporters of the Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness project can follow their progress on a new smartphone application.
Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, the Ruler of Sharjah, will attend the launch of the annual event.
Information on the clinics offering tests for breast cancer, the latest events and details of the educational and counselling services available can be accessed via the app. It can be downloaded from Apple and Android app stores.
Ameera Bin Karam, the president of the board of trustees and founding member of Friends of Cancer Patients Society, said: “The app will enable the Pink Caravan to connect with a wider spectrum of community members in the UAE to raise awareness.”
