SHARJAH // The Cabinet’s decision to allocate millions for new preventative health initiatives has received praise from Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah.

The Cabinet allocated Dh54 million for two initiatives to provide free early detection of cancer and screenings to Emiratis.

“We have great confidence that both initiatives, ‘Regular Check-ups’ and ‘Early Detection of Cancer’ will contribute significantly to raising public awareness about the importance of early detection of cancer and boost efforts aimed at offering free screenings across the UAE throughout the year,” said Sheikha Jawaher, who is also Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society.

Sheikha Jawaher highlighted the importance of cancer prevention programmes alongside regular examinations and check-ups.

Such initiatives demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to providing excellence in maintaining healthy lifestyles for its citizens and residents, she said.
