Sharjah inmates get free dentals

Thirty seven dentists and nurses from the UAE and abroad volunteered to carry out 88 dental implant procedures on inmates in Sharjah prison on Thursday.

Thirty seven dentists and nurses from the UAE and abroad volunteered to carry out 88 dental implant procedures on inmates in Sharjah prison on Thursday.

Doctor Suheil Hussainy, head of the dental implants research institute in Dubai, said: “As doctors, we have an obligation to do volunteer work for the communities we live in.”

In August this year, 54 inmates had dental procedures in Sharjah prison. “We thrive to provide the best care we can for the inmates,” said Col Khalifa Mohammed Al Marri, head of the inmates affairs department in Sharjah prison.
