RAS AL KHAIMAH // The Public Health and Environment Department at RAK Municipality confirmed that it had intensified its inspection rounds on popular kitchens during the Eid Al Adha holiday.
Health and safety requirements include having specially equipped storage areas to store food, having a clean and disinfected place to chop meat and poultry and a separate place for working with vegetables.
Kitchen walls should also be protected against rodents and insects.
Violations will be met by warnings and fines.
Khalifa Al Maktoum, the department director, said his agency held several meetings with restaurant and kitchen owners to raise awareness about the laws and safety regulations.
