ABU DHABI // Health insurers will have to cover people injured in traffic accidents or at work, under plans by the Government.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, has proposed to the Cabinet an amendment to fees for health services. If approved, the move will mean that insurers must also cover costs for visitors to the country.
The Ministry of Health plans to expand the number of Seha facilities in Abu Dhabi that accept insurance cards and has established an electronic claims system.
It will hold talks with insurance companies about the changes to address any challenges caused.
