More than 430 cyclists have registered for the second of four “build-up rides” for the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, taking place on December 12.

According to the organisers, nearly 420 people turned up for the first 35km build-up ride this month and entries are still pouring in for the next on October 3, which will be over 45km at the Nad Al Sheba cycle track.

The challenge started in 2010 and this year more than 2,000 riders are expected to enter.

The build-up rides increase in distance each time in preparation for the full 92km race, with the third ride on October 31, on a 65 km course, and the final on November 28 over 85km, both held at the Dubai Cycling Course.

Details for next build-up ride are on the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge Facebook page.

Online registration for the build-up ride costs Dh50 and closes on September 30.

Riders can also register on the day from 5.30am.
