DUBAI // Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals are being asked to contribute to the the second phase of crowdsourcing for Al Maktoum Hospital Museum, a first-of-its-kind tribute to one of Dubai’s oldest hospitals.

The museum is the creation of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the state news agency Wam reported.

Crowdsourcing will be integral in helping chronicle the hospital’s history, including the role it played in shaping the emirate’s medical sector.

As such, professionals from the medical sector, including pharmacies, ambulances, and laboratories, as well as Dubai residents, are being invited to share their experiences, memories and anecdotes.

“The response to the first phase of our unique crowdsourcing initiative has been overwhelming, and we extend our gratitude to all the participants,” said Saeed Al Nabouda, the acting director general of the authority.

“They have indeed made invaluable contributions to chronicling the history of Al Maktoum Hospital, one of the oldest institutions in Dubai – and still the cornerstone of the city’s healthcare sector.

“Dubai Culture will continue to lead the crowdsourcing initiative in various phases, giving people across the country the opportunity to share their insights for Al Maktoum Hospital Museum.”
