DUBAI // Patients with long-term health issues will benefit from a new, advanced booking system at Dubai Hospital to improve access to same-day appointments.
It is hoped the improved service will be more convenient for chronically ill patients and ensure they have access to regular follow-up examinations at the Al Baraha facility.
The initiative was discussed during a two-hour “Leaders at your Service” forum staged by Dubai Health Authority, where several queries were addressed with feedback and suggestions.
Dr Abdulrehman Al Jassmi, chief executive of Dubai Hospital, said: “The move will help patients with chronic diseases because they can schedule their appointments with specialists on the same day.
“For example, a patient with cardiac and renal problems can meet with a cardiologist and a nephrologist on the same day. However, sometimes same-day scheduling may not be possible because of the different time frames of treatment or unavailability of a slot on the same day.”
