DUBAI // The Dubai Health Authority has introduced a volunteering programme to assist patients with moral support as well as financial help.
It is part fo the DHA’s Mosaadah (assistance) programme, through which the authority reaches out to Emiratis and residents who require medical treatment but cannot afford it.
Last year, the programme helped to provde financial assistance worth Dh55 million to patients without the means to pay for their treatment.
We are pleased to launch this program, which presents a unique opportunity to give back to our community and to help patients who are facing financial difficulties or those who require our moral support and time,” said Salem bin Lahej, head of Mosaadah.
“People can decide to volunteer in any capacity they like – they can spend time with elderly patients, with children suffering from chronic diseases, etc. They can jot down their preferences on the registration form and we will discuss the opportunities available in the area that best matches their interests and meets the needs of our programme.”
