The UAE recorded 1,988 Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, its lowest daily tally since March 29.

The latest cases brought the country's total to 474,136.

Another 2,138 people beat the virus as the number of recoveries climbed to 458,885.

The death toll stands at 1,516 following four more fatalities.

The number of active cases fell to 13,735, as the recent trend of recoveries exceeding new infections continued.

The drop in case numbers came as 254,944 tests were carried out, the second-highest amount to date.

Infection rates hovered above 3,000 throughout February and the first half of March, but have steadily declined since.

Infections have remained below 2,500 per day since March 7.

Death rates have also fallen significantly since hitting a peak of 20 on February 19.

In contrast, 24 deaths have been recorded in the past seven days.

The daily death toll has been in single figures since March 26.

Mass screening and a widespread immunisation campaign have been cited as key to controlling the spread of the coronavirus.

More than 39 million tests have been conducted nationwide since the outbreak began, while more than 8.5 million doses of the vaccine have been administered since December.

UAE currency: the story behind the money in your pockets
Have you been targeted?

Tuan Phan of SimplyFI.org lists five signs you have been mis-sold to:

1. Your pension fund has been placed inside an offshore insurance wrapper with a hefty upfront commission.

2. The money has been transferred into a structured note. These products have high upfront, recurring commission and should never be in a pension account.

3. You have also been sold investment funds with an upfront initial charge of around 5 per cent. ETFs, for example, have no upfront charges.

4. The adviser charges a 1 per cent charge for managing your assets. They are being paid for doing nothing. They have already claimed massive amounts in hidden upfront commission.

5. Total annual management cost for your pension account is 2 per cent or more, including platform, underlying fund and advice charges.
