The UAE announced 915 cases of Covid-19 on Monday.

A further 1,295 patients were given the all clear. The number of recoveries now stands at 108,811. Three more patients died as the country's death toll rose to 466.

The UAE has recorded 116,517 cases since the start of the outbreak.

Officials said 77,291 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours. So far, more than 11.7 million tests have been conducted across the country.

Despite the increase in daily cases, which dropped as low as 164 on August 4, the number of active cases has been steadily decreasing from more than 10,000 on October 4.

On Monday, the country had 7,240 active cases. The highest number of active cases in the UAE was 17,031 on June 5.

To thank the frontline workers for their continuous fight against the coronavirus, authorities said they would be granted free access to two popular Abu Dhabi cultural sites.

The emirate's Department of Culture and Tourism will provide free entry to Qasr Al Hosn and Louvre Abu Dhabi to medical and non-medical professionals and volunteers in recognition of their efforts.

Starting from Wednesday, October 21, the offer is available for six months and includes up to three guests.

The news is the latest gesture by UAE authorities to highlight the work of frontline staff, who have been described as heroes.
