The UAE reported a rise in the number of new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, as another 15 patients died.

A further 2,721 infections were confirmed – up from 2,526 new cases the previous day.

Case numbers have, however, remained below 3,000 for the past three days, having hovered above this number for much of the year.

The latest figures brought the overall infection tally since the pandemic began to 396,771.

Another 1,666 patients were given the all-clear, increasing the overall recovery total to 383,998.

The number of active cases in the country increased to 11,520, as new cases exceeded recoveries for a fifth consecutive day.

Fifteen Covid-19 patients died, taking the overall death toll to 1,253.

An additional 225,159 tests were conducted – the second largest daily number since the outbreak began.

The highest daily number was recorded on Sunday, when 226,139 tests were carried out.

More than 31 million tests have been done to date since the pandemic began.

Going grey? A stylist's advice

If you’re going to go grey, a great style, well-cared for hair (in a sleek, classy style, like a bob), and a young spirit and attitude go a long way, says Maria Dowling, founder of the Maria Dowling Salon in Dubai.
It’s easier to go grey from a lighter colour, so you may want to do that first. And this is the time to try a shorter style, she advises. Then a stylist can introduce highlights, start lightening up the roots, and let it fade out. Once it’s entirely grey, a purple shampoo will prevent yellowing.
“Get professional help – there’s no other way to go around it,” she says. “And don’t just let it grow out because that looks really bad. Put effort into it: properly condition, straighten, get regular trims, make sure it’s glossy.”
