Another 346 new Covid-19 infections were reported in the UAE on Tuesday, following more than 38,000 tests.
The cases raise the country's total to 42,982 since the outbreak.
A further 732 recoveries were announced, taking the tally to 28,861. The number of daily recoveries were higher than the number of new cases for the seventh consecutive day. The figures indicate that more than 67 per cent of the people who were treated for Covid-19 in the UAE have now recovered.
Two deaths were also reported on Tuesday, making the total death toll 293.
On Monday, health authorities said at least 40 per cent of people who died of coronavirus in the UAE suffered from a form of diabetes.
This prompted Dr Amna Al Dhahak, spokeswoman for the UAE Government, to warn against unhealthy lifestyle choices.
"People should be extra careful. Adopt a healthy lifestyle," she said.
It came as the UAE Government announced that Emiratis and residents will be allowed to travel abroad from June 23.
People will be able to fly to some destinations under specific conditions and procedures, which are yet to be announced, it said in a tweet. It was said that further information would be released in time.
The UAE closed its borders to commercial flights on March 24. Since then, special repatriation flights have been operated and now outgoing passenger flights are available to book.
As it stands, all travellers need permission to return to the UAE from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship before they can book a flight home.
At this point, there is a 14-day quarantine period in place for all travellers arriving in the UAE.
Globally, the number of infections passed 8 million with almost 440,000 deaths.
