Dubai has fined one business for flouting rules designed to curb the spread of Covid-19.

It came during a sweep of about 200 establishments on Friday.

Dubai Economy said 192 businesses were complying were the rules.

It comes as the UAE recorded the highest daily Covid-19 case tally since the pandemic started with 1,538 cases.

Authorities have been ramping up efforts to clamp down on those flouting the law.

Over the part few months, authorities have handed out fines for failing to wear masks, not adhering to social distancing and organising mass gatherings.
