Private hospitals in Abu Dhabi are now clear of Covid-19 cases after the final patient was recently discharged.
On Friday, it was announced that hospitals managed by Burjeel Medical Group, NMC Group and Ain Al Khaleej are no longer treating patients with the virus.
Authorities said anyone with respiratory symptoms should visit specialised hospitals designated for Covid-19 cases, including Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital and Al Ain Hospital.
"The consistent efforts of the healthcare sector and testing in line with the National Screening Programme have drastically reduced the number of cases requiring medical care," a statement carried by Abu Dhabi Government Media Office read.
Private hospitals in the capital will continue to provide specialised and full healthcare services to non-coronavirus patients.
The announcement came as the UAE identified 473 new coronavirus cases across the country.
They were detected as 47,000 tests for the infection were conducted.
The number of recoveries rose to 43,969 after 399 patients overcame the virus, and two deaths were reported.
The total number of active cases in the Emirates now stands at 9,751. On Thursday, that figure dipped to below 10,000 for the first time since April 30.
Since the outbreak, 54,050 have tested positive for Covid-19 and 330 people have died.
