ABU DHABI // Twelve kilograms of food was found unfit for human consumption during inspections last month.
The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority’s Western Region branch conducted the inspections following Ramadan and the Eid Al Fitr holidays, resulting in seven warnings.
The inspectors made unannounced visits to food establishments in Liwa and Al Marfaa in the Western Region to determine the health conditions in the facilities and ensure their adherance to the authority's regulations, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language newspaper of The National.
The food authority ensures the delivery of safe food to the public and protects the health of animals and plants through quality standards, policies and research, according to its website.
