Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has spoken about what it takes to be a successful leader, in a new video shared on his Instagram account. On Friday, he posted a 53-second video, in which he shared his life and leadership experiences. Sheikh Mohammed has been serving as Ruler of Dubai and the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister since 2006. “I tell my team that in the race for excellence, there is no finishing line, and this statement is becoming more true every day,” he said. “When we promise, we deliver. We all have dreams but only a leader can change this dream into reality. We all take risks in life, but do you know what is the biggest risk? Not taking risks at all.” Born in 1949, Sheikh Mohammed began his work in public service in 1968, when he was appointed as head of Dubai Police and Public Security. In 2019, he published his book, titled <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/government/sheikh-mohammed-s-my-story-now-available-in-english-1.826281"><em>My Story</em></a>, which chronicles 50 experiences from his 50 years of service. The strength of the UAE's leadership, its response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the success of the Emirates Mars Mission has helped the country improve its position to 17th in the world in the <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/government/mars-mission-and-covid-19-response-sees-uae-climb-to-17th-in-global-power-list-1.1173248">Global Soft Power Index</a>, the latest edition of which was released last month.
