DUBAI // A used furniture and home appliance market is due to open this month, Dubai Municipality has said.

The Dh77 million project came as a response to needs of used furniture sellers and encompasses an area of more than 163,000 square metres, said Khalifa Hareb, director of the municipality assets management department.

The project will include 120 stores in six blocks, as well as administrative offices and facilities, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.

The market will be located in Nad Al Sheba 3 at the end of Manama Street, and 90 per cent of the work has been completed.

“The aim is to gather all stores in one location to facilitate purchase by individual and re-export companies,” said Mr Hareb.
