ABU DHABI // The UAE is keen on strengthening its partnership with international organisations in the areas of development and humanitarian assistance, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, has said.
Sheikha Lubna was speaking at a meeting with Jan Eliasson, deputy secretary-general of the United Nations, at her ministry in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
The UAE seeks to enhance partnerships with the UN through international development, the provision of humanitarian aid, the exchange of expertise, and aid for efforts in all relief areas, she said.
The meeting focused on efforts by the UAE and UN in response to the humanitarian crises in Syria, Yemen and Palestine.
Mr Eliasson praised the UAE’s leading role in providing support and humanitarian aid to communities and peoples around the world, namely in Syria and Yemen.
The UN is also committed to strengthen its partnership with the UAE, he said.

Tips for job-seekers
- Do not submit your application through the Easy Apply button on LinkedIn. Employers receive between 600 and 800 replies for each job advert on the platform. If you are the right fit for a job, connect to a relevant person in the company on LinkedIn and send them a direct message.
- Make sure you are an exact fit for the job advertised. If you are an HR manager with five years’ experience in retail and the job requires a similar candidate with five years’ experience in consumer, you should apply. But if you have no experience in HR, do not apply for the job.
