Sultan bin Khalifa, Nahyan bin Mubarak attend wedding ceremony
Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa, Adviser to the UAE President, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, attended a reception hosted by Khalid Musfir Al Ahbabi to celebrate the wedding of his son Mohammed to the daughter of Abdul Nasir bin Azhar Al Ahbabi.
Government accepts 115 of 238 FNC recommendations
The Federal National Council has adopted 238 recommendations following 22 debates on public issues held during 66 sessions in the 15th legislative chapter of the 4th ordinary session, from 2011 to 2015. According to a report issued by the FNC Secretariat-General, following the discussions the Government agreed to 115 recommendations and rejected 16, postponed four and set aside eight as pending decisions.
Nahyan honours top achievers
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, addressed a ceremony to honour the first three top female achievers in the Secondary School Certificate examinations. The three girls – one in the literary stream and two in science – scored 99.9 per cent each last academic year.

Manal calls on Emirati women to run for FNC elections
Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, President of Dubai Women Establishment and wife of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Minister of Presidential Affairs, said that the participation of Emirati women in the next Federal National Council elections is a national duty.
Census council set up in Ajman
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Crown Prince, Chairman of the Executive Council, has issued a resolution on the formation of the supreme committee of general census of population, housing and establishments in the emirate.
Nahyan offers condolences to Al Khamiri family
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, offered his condolences to Yousif Khamis Salem Al Khamiri and his brothers Salem, Ahmed and Majed, on the death of their father, Khamis Salem Al Khamiri.
RAK Ruler offers condolences to Al Ghais Al Zaabi family
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered condolences to Salem Obaid Ahmed Al Ghais Al Zaabi and to his brothers Ahmed and Abdul Aziz on the death of their mother.
Mohammed bin Zayed attends wedding ceremony
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, attended a ceremony hosted by Saif Sultan Al Aryani to celebrate the wedding of his son Ali to the daughter of Mohammed Mabkhout Al Ameri.

Honours for 40 Dar Al Ber full Quran memorisers
Sheikha Azza Al Nuaimi has honoured 40 Dar Al Ber Quran memorisers after they finished their revision course as part of the Ber Quran Memorisation project. The sixth edition of the course, titled There is a Will, There is a Way, involved 270 female participants who received accolades at a ceremony at the Cultural and Social Centre of the Ministry Of Culture, Youth and Community Development in Ajman.
Congratulations to Singapore’s president
President Sheikh Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Tony Tan, president of Singapore, on his country’s national day. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent similar cables.
UAE envoy hosts banquet in honour of Somali deputy PM
Mohammed Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, has hosted a dinner banquet in honour of deputy prime minister of Somalia, who lauded the UAE’s support for his country and emphasised that cooperation between the countries would result in continued support for development projects.
UAE envoy in Khartoum meets Sudanese speaker
Hammad Al Junaibi, the UAE Ambassador to Sudan, met Prof Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, speaker of the Sudanese national assembly. During the meeting, Mr Al Junaibi and Prof Omer discussed bilateral relations.

UAQ Ruler receives outgoing Egyptian ambassador
Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, received Ihab Imam Hamouda, Egyptian ambassador to the UAE, who was paying a courtesy visit to mark the end of his tenure. Sheikh Saud wished the ambassador success and praised his role in strengthening relations between the countries.
UAE Embassy in Vietnam participates in Agent Orange walk
The UAE Embassy in Vietnam participated in a walk organised by the Vietnam Red Cross to support victims of Agent Organ/dioxin. About 10,000 people participated. The UAE is a major donor to the annual event, held in Ho Chi Minh City to support generations of victims who suffer disabilities because of exposure to the toxic chemical during the Vietnam War. Gifts were distributed and funds raised will go towards aid projects.
Mohammed bin Zayed receives governor general of Australia
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met Sir Peter Cosgrove, governor general of Australia, at Qasr Al Bahr. Sheikh Mohammed praised the great advances in the relationships between the UAE and Australia over the past 40 years. The governor general offered his condolences to Sheikh Mohammed on the national heroes, First Corporals Juma Jawhar Juma Al Hammadi, Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Shehhi and Fahim Saeed Ahmed Al Habsi, who died while performing their national duty as part of the UAE forces in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

UAE remains leader in attracting talent
The UAE is the global leader in attracting talent for the second consecutive year, according to a study by LinkedIn. The networking website analysed new positions added to member profiles during 2014. India is the leading source of professional talent coming to the UAE, representing 28 per cent, followed by the UK, Pakistan, US and Qatar.
UAE aid to developing world’s youth Dh541m since 2009
Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, speaking in an address for International Youth Day, said that UAE aid to developing nations for youth projects from 2009 until last year was Dh541 million. Sheikha Lubna, who is also the head of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, said youth are the “kernel of the development process and progress of communities”.
Condolences to family of Juma Al Hammadi
Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed, visited the family home of Juma Jawhar Juma Al Hammadi, who died while performing his national duty as part of the UAE forces in Operation Restoring Hope to support the people of Yemen and their legitimate government, and offered condolences to the family members. Dr Gargash and Sheikh Zayed expressed sympathy with them and prayed to Allah to bestow eternal peace on him and to grant his family patience and fortitude to bear his loss.

UAE envoy meets president of Colombia’s house of representatives
Mohammed Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Colombia, met Alfredo Deluque, president of house of representatives in the Republic of Colombia. Mr Deluque praised the friendship and cooperation ties that exist between the UAE and Colombia and noted the good reputation of the UAE in his country.
Mohammed bin Zayed receives Yemeni president
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has reiterated the unequivocal, historic, and supportive stance of the UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa, towards Yemen and its people, during talks with Yemeni president Abdrabu Mansur Hadi. Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, received the Yemeni foreign minister, Riyadh Yassin.

UAE envoy presents copy of credentials to Australian official
Dr Obeid Al Heiri Al Ketbi, UAE Ambassador to Australia, has presented a copy of his credentials to Chris Cannan, chief of protocol at the Australian department of foreign affairs and trade, at the Ministry premises. During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways to improve relations between the two countries.
ERC launches water harvesting project in Palestine
Emirates Red Crescent has launched a Dh1.45 million water project that will contribute to stimulating the Palestinian economy by providing water for use in agriculture. The governor of Hebron, Kamel Hamid, praised the UAE president, government and people for their support of Palestinians, saying the project would help improve living conditions for 100 farmers. A hundred wells have been drilled for harvesting rainwater for farm irrigation.
