UAE Government employees to be paid on June 20 ahead of Eid

ABU DHABI // Government employees will receive their monthly salaries on June 20.

The President, Sheikh Khalifa, directed the payment of salaries for federal employees and pensions for retirees ahead of Eid Al Fitr, reported Wam, the state news agency.

Abu Dhabi government employees and retirees will receive their salaries and pensions on the same day, under the directives of Sheikh Khalifa, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, had said on Sunday that government employees in the emirate would receive their salaries on June 15.

On Monday afternoon, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah followed suit in ordering that the salaries of their respective government employees be paid early this month.

The moves have been made to allow families to meet their needs for Eid Al Fitr and enjoy quality time during the holiday, officials said.
