The UAE and the Dominican Republic have signed an agreement to establish diplomatic ties.
The agreement, signed by the countries’ permanent representatives to the United Nations, affirms the common interest of the duo to strengthen friendship and cooperation in the political, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural and scientific areas.
The agreement also acknowledges that the diplomatic relations between the two countries are established in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961, reported Wam, the state news agency.
Discussions followed the agreements to strengthen relations through exchange of visits and expertise.
