DUBAI // Dubai Municipality has fined six Ramadan tents for serving shisha without a permit.
Any Ramadan tent that is caught serving shisha without a permit from the municipality will be fined, said Marwan Al Mohammed, director of the municipality health and safety department.
Violators will be fined Dh20,000 on the first offence and up to Dh60,000 on the third offence, when the licence for the tent will also be withdrawn, Mr Al Mohammed said, according to The National's Arabic-language sister paper, Aletihad.
Mr Al Mohammed said that his department had granted 19 permits for serving shisha in Ramadan tents at hotels and malls.
