Sheikh Saif participates in Ministry of Interior security exercise

SHARJAH // Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on Wednesday participated in the Special Security Forces’ “Piercing Eagle” exercise in Al Dhaid.

The police and security forces from various ministries and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority also took part in the exercise.

Sheikh Saif toured the exercise area and visited a military camp. He saw drills for first aid and military personnel missing in action.

He also visited the construction site of a military prison and rehabilitation centre at the headquarters of the Special Security Forces.

Sheikh Saif thanked the participants for their efforts and urged them to work hard to enhance the country’s security and the safety of residents.

Also on Wednesday, the police launched the Friends of the Police programme in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi for the children of all personnel at the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Wam said.

The programme introduces the children to the nature of their parents’ work and encourages their creativity.

More than 150 children between the ages of seven and 14 will take part in the programme.
