DUBAI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, ordered the release of 129 prisoners in Dubai ahead of the UAE’s 44th National Day.
The humanitarian gesture reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s keenness to give prisoners of various nationalities the opportunity to follow the right path and start new lives with their families, said Essam Al Humaidan, Dubai Attorney General.
He added that the pardons would have a positive impact on the families of the prisoners, who will have the opportunity to reintigrate into society.
Mr Al Humaidan said that Sheikh Mohammed’s orders would be carried out immediately and that the Public Prosecution was working with Dubai Police to implement the orders.
