ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has pledged confidence in the Government’s ability to fulfil promises of ambitious development despite today’s challenges.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces on Monday marked the Abu Dhabi Government’s Golden Jubilee at the Sea Palace.
“We are confident that the Government is capable of fulfilling its commitments and requirements for the years to come as it laid down the foundation for development 50 years ago,” said Sheikh Mohammed, who yesterday met the Government’s first and current leaders.
He recalled the achievements of Sheikh Zayed, the Founding Father, who introduced principles of good governance through his vision.
And that vision is pursued by the President, Sheikh Khalifa.
Sheikh Zayed laid “the building blocks of the Government organisational structure and its objectives and functions, which made the emirate of Abu Dhabi a symbol of originality, modernisation and tradition”, said Sheikh Mohammed.
Abu Dhabi became a role model for investing in people, providing them with modern education and instilling positive values and loyalty to the nation, he said.
“Today we are reaping the fruits of that prudent vision in form of remarkable achievements and successes,” said Sheikh Mohammed. “Over the past 50 years, the executive authority turned the development and strategy vision into true tangible achievements.
“It makes us proud to see Abu Dhabi setting an example for development projects and future plans whose aspiration knows no boundaries under the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, which seeks to transform the emirate into a knowledge-driven economy.”
Sheikh Mohammed praised the first Abu Dhabi Government employees for their service to the nation in difficult conditions.
“We are confident the current generation of government employees will stay the course of their predecessors to achieve further development driven by enthusiasm and motivation to be among makers of the future who will elevate the standing of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”
Sheikh Mohammed urged employees to consider citizens’ happiness as a top priority.
