Im Jong-seok, Minister of State and special envoy of the president of South Korea, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday on a state visit.
Mr Im was received by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
During their meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Im discussed relations including the co-operation programme between the two countries on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
Sheikh Mohamed conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa, President of the UAE, to South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
He wished the Korean people progress, stability and development.
The Korean envoy thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the warm welcome and stressed his country’s keenness to develop relations between the countries at all levels.
The meeting took place at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.
It was attended by Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, Mohamed Al Mazrouei, undersecretary of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. and a delegation accompanying the South Korean envoy.
