Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed meets Sudanese military council chief
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi greeted Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan on his arrival in the capital
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed met the chairman of Sudan's transitional military council in the capital and expressed the UAE's commitment to support the country as it moved forward after three decades of rule by former president Omar Al Bashir.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces met Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan after he touched down at the Presidential Airport on Sunday.
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE’s support in preserving Sudan's security and stability.
The military council and Sudanese civilian leaders have agreed that the council will govern for a three-year transition period but differences remain over the balance of the council and how it should be led.
Also welcoming Gen Al Burhan were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Mohammed Al Bawardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; and Hamad Al Junaibi, the UAE ambassador to Sudan.
