Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed inquired after the health of Kuwait's emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed on Thursday.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces called Sheikh Sabah to ask about his recovery from a recent minor health set back.
During the phone conversation, Sheikh Mohamed prayed for Sheikh Sabah's good health and for Kuwait to be blessed with further progress and prosperity under the emir's leadership.
Sheikh Sabah thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his prayers and his call, which he said reflected the strong bonds between the UAE and Kuwait, according to state news agency Wam.
Sheikh Sabah wished prosperity to the UAE under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa.
Last week, Kuwait's state news agency Kuna said Sheikh Sabah, 90, had recovered from a health setback and is “in good condition now”.
The Acting Emiri Diwan Minister, Mohammad Sharar, said Sheikh Sabah had gone through a medical check-up and the results were good. The agency gave no further details.
