ABU DHABI // The President, Sheikh Khalifa, has conferred the Independence Order (First Class) upon TP Seetharam, the Indian ambassador to the UAE, in appreciation of his efforts to strengthen ties between the UAE and India.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, presented the Order to the Indian envoy on Tuesday.
Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the ambassador and wished him success in future.
The Indian ambassador expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Khalifa for awarding him the prestigious medal and commended the wise leadership of the UAE.
The Indian envoy also extended his thanks to officials and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperationfor their co-operation during his tenure, reported Wam, the state news agency.
Sheikh Khalifa also conferred the Independence Order (First Class) upon Chang Hua, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE.
Also on Tuesday, a new batch of 80 male and female diplomats took the oath of office before Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation premises in Abu Dhabi.
