Sheikh Khalifa appoints first attorney general

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Khalifa, the President, has issued federal decree 135 of 2014, appointing Dr Hamad Saif Mohammed Muslim Al Shamsi as first attorney general.

Dr Al Shamsi received his Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Sharia and Law at UAE University, and Master’s degree in private law from the Arab Republic of Egypt. He earned his Doctoral degree in private law in Britain.

He also represented the country in a number of negotiations pertaining to bilateral agreements between the UAE and foreign and Arab countries.

Dr Al Shamsi has supervised training of judicial trainees and technical and administrative supervision departments during his tenure at Al Ain Public Prosecution.

He also participated in a number of local, Arab and international conferences and seminars, where he presented working papers.

He further presided over many legal and legislative committees and received several promotions in the public federal prosecution.
