Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Foreign Minister, on Thursday praised developing ties between the UAE and Algeria.
Speaking at an event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah said the countries’ relations in the fields of politics, the economy, trade and investment have evolved since 1974 into one of mutual understanding and close perspectives on regional and international political issues.
Algerian foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra was present at the meeting.
Current circumstances require a “thorough study of future predictions and new challenges”, Sheikh Abdullah said, adding that the cooperation between UAE and Algerian officials was progressing. He called for examining new ways to increase trade exchange.
Non-oil trade exchange grew 14 per cent from 2013 to 2014, reaching US$493.2 million.
