SHARJAH // The government of Sharjah is to cover the cost of electricity and water for all Emiratis who benefit from a housing loan with Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued the directive that was announced by Khalifa Al Tunaiji, director general of the Department of Housing in Sharjah, reported The National's Arabic sister paper, Aletihad.
Sheikh Sultan said: “The citizen is the backbone of this country and fixing the home is key to building the community and that responsibility of building the community should be borne by all.”
A census was recently carried out in Sharjah to give Sheikh Sultan insight into citizens’ lives and help him devise solutions to their problems.
