The sound of explosions, gunfire and helicopters flying overhead is enough to put anyone on edge.
But for those living or working in the Umm Suqeim area of Dubai this month, the ongoing noise is nothing to worry about.
On Friday, officials from the Ministry of Interior issued a warning on social media that preparations for the Arabian Gulf Security Two exercise would result in unusual activity in and around Dubai Police Academy.
Authorities released a short video clip showing armed troops abseiling down buildings and screeching to a halt in tactical response vehicles.
The exercise is understood to involve security personnel from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman – as well as officers from police authorities across the UAE.
The Royal Oman Police said the joint tactical drill of the GCC Security Units aimed to exchange expertise and boost joint security work.
