New Year’s Day a holiday for all in UAE

All UAE workers will have a long weekend to celebrate the new year.

Thursday, January 1, has been declared a paid holiday for public and private sector employees.

The announcement for the public sector was made by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Fahr, to ministries and federal bodies affected by the decision, Wam, the state news agency, reported.

The private sector holiday announcement was made shortly after by the Minister of Labour, Saqr Ghobash.

Mr Ghobash and Fahr passed their regards to the people of the UAE, congratulating them on the occasion.
