People can now make a request to visit inmates of Punitive and Correctional Establishments across the country via the Ministry of Interior’s new smartphone application, UAE MoI.
The new service enables inmates’ families to obtain the service quickly and easily in accordance with the smart government’s vision.
Brig Hamad Adeel Al Shamesi, director-general of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, said that the service aimed to facilitate organised visits for inmates, and is one of the most important services provided by the ministry.
He said that the ministry has endeavoured to transform this service into a smart service as part of the Federal Government’s vision to save time and effort for members of the public and enable them to avail these services smoothly and easily without the inconvenience of visiting the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to submit a request for a visit.
