A delegation from the Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein Cultural Islamic Centre has met female inmates being held in Dubai.

Their visit focused on hearing the needs of inmates who have their children with them in prison.

“We were briefed on the correctional programme in [the] women’s prison in its cultural, social, and spiritual aspects, and their care programme for the inmates’ children who lived with their mothers in the prison,” said Hamda Al Muhairi, head of Princess Haya Cultural Islamic Centers.

“We also toured the children’s classes and the inmate classes and had an idea about the educational activities for the inmates’ children.”

The delegation discussed ways of collaborating with the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.
