More than 13,000 people registered for an online event that will bring together thousands of UAE students and the country's leaders to discuss the future.

The third annual Mohamed bin Zayed Majilis for Future Generations takes place on Sunday with the theme of Thriving in the New Normal.

The event will allow young people to communicate directly with decision-makers and experts to discuss their ambitions and help prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

“The great turnout from young people at a rate never before seen in this event is a reflection of the growing popularity of the Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations,” said Mohamed Al Nuaimi, director of the Education Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court.

He said the large number of people who have registered shows the need for such platforms.

“This kind of event meets their aspirations and empowers them to come forward with knowledge-based effective ideas and sustainable solutions for challenges – both current and future,” he said.

“The majlis allows young people to drive the UAE’s development and prosperity to new horizons, in line with the aspirations of our leadership and our people, neither of whom ever settle for less than first place.”

While registration is full, the event can be followed by live stream on The National's website.
