The authorities have called on employers to ensure staff have flexible hours during bouts of bad weather and "take into consideration" they may arrive late for work.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation said the safety of employees was paramount during "unstable" conditions.
The message comes as the UAE gets ready for a week of rain, including potential flooding in some parts of the country.

In a tweet, the ministry said it issued a circular last year outlining its strong views on worker safety during hazardous weather conditions.
Workplaces were also told to improve employee awareness of road safety guidelines and allow them to take advantage of flexible working hours during rough weather.
Forecasters warned of possible flash flooding as the UAE faces five straight days of rain.
The National Centre of Meteorology said showers of different intensities would affect the entire country over the coming days, up to and including Thursday although showers will mostly be confined to coastal and eastern areas.
"There could be some flash floods in the north and east, not in Abu Dhabi," said a forecaster for the centre.
