The midday work break for labourers will run from Monday until September 15, the Ministry of Labour said.
The ruling, which has run for 11 years, allows most labourers relief from working under direct sunlight between 12.30pm and 3pm.
It also requires companies to provide shade and water, said Saqr Ghobash, the Minister of Labour.
Daily working hours must not exceed eight hours in either day or night shifts and offenders face fines of Dh5,000 per worker for non-compliance, up to a total of Dh50,000.
