SHARJAH // Nearly 200 citizens have had their applications for new residential plots approved, officials have said.
The Permanent Committee for Land Allocation in Sharjah approved 191 applications, according to the state news agency, Wam.
The land allocation is an implementation of directives of Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, for granting citizens in the emirate residential land and investment to raise their living standards and diversify their sources of income, said Waleed bin Falah Al Mansouri, the committee chairman.
Applications were considered at a meeting of the Town Planning and Survey Directorate. Twenty-two applications were rejected for not fulfilling required criteria, said Mr Al Mansouri.
