Khalifa Foundation distributes food to Syrian refugees

ANKARA // The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has distributed food aid to Syrian refugees living in three Turkish cities.

About 500,000 refugees are to benefit from the aid, given out by the UAE Embassy in Ankara on behalf of the foundation.

The charge d’affaires of the UAE Embassy, Ahmed Al Mutawa Al Shehhi, oversaw the aid distribution in the cities of Ankara, Kilis and Sanliurfa, the state news agency, Wam, reported.

More than 1.7 million Syrian refugees have fled to Turkey, according to the latest figures from UNHCR, the UN’s refugee agency.
